The second album from Jay Chou, this is considered by many to be the album that propelled Jay into stardom. Once again featuring lyrics from his two partners Vincent Fang and Vivian Hsu. Fantasy lives up to its name with songs centered around strange and wonderful themes. Jay again composes all the songs in the album. The first track is very famous for its originality in describing love through time. Track 2 also garners praise with its lyrics on a sensitive subject as well as being sung partially in Taiwanese. Nun-Chuks is the track that has brought Jay the most fame with its combination of Chinese music and hip hop.

Track01 - Returns you to the moving history of Mesopotamia. This is the start song to the series "Ugly woman returns". A great song to start the album, Jay has written this track perfectly. The music is very R&B and everything comes together very well. This completely fits the requirements of a fantasy. Though I think the words might not be understood by some of his younger audience.

Track02 - The tune is an interesting & easy to listen to song. This is a song with Jay's real disposition. This song combines classic with R&B and rap. The song tells the story of a son whose father beats his mother. This song has a very modern taste and deals with themes that are not normally dealt with in songs.

Track03 - Theme song to 'Star Blue'. This is a very well written song and listening to it gives me a feeling of being young. The song is well organised and pretty easy to understand. It gives me the feeling of young love - simple love.

Track04 - This song takes you into the world of Japanese electronics music. This song has a very Japanese feel to it. The instruments used are Japanese and even the content is about Japanese themes. This song is a ray of sunshine and has a great beat. The MTV is also cool.

Track05 - This song is about a man who carries the important task of going out to invade in space. This is also a love story and a very touching one too. I think this is my favourite song in the whole album. Once again the lyricist is Vivian Hsu and she really has written a masterpiece. The song is well written and it has a great MTV. This is definitely one to look out for. Jay seems to like to add his own bit in at the end of live performances.

Track06 - The end song for the series 'Ugly woman returns'. This has a sort of remembering feel to it. The song is not modern and it focuses on the past. It is basically about a person who imagines how his parents were in 1943. The song is slow and I have to admit I didn't really like the idea of Shanghai 1943 and I felt it was a bit boring but the song gets better as you listen to it more.

Track07 - The song for 2001 Unified drinking tea commercial. This is a fast beat song and has a lot of rapping in it. I'm not sure what this song is about but it has something to do with a guy meeting a girl and then loosing her. This is a good song to listen to.

Track08 - This song is about a mysterious vampire in a gorgeous atmospheric suspense. This song is a fantasy. It is very original and I don't remember the last time I heard a song about vampires. The song is a breath of fresh air with its uses of organs and all things gothic.

Track09 - China's firm but gentle and also with the aid of the brave and fierce rock and roll. Plus super fast rap. This combines old Chinese instruments with modern electric guitar. This is certainly a burst of innovation. When you first think of this combination you would never think it would work but Jay has pulled it off in style. The song looks so good especially when Jay sings it while showing off nun-chuks.

Track10 - This song is about the sorrow of silently playing a piano alone. This is a slow and classical song with the main instrument being the piano. Jay writes the words and they are quite touching. I don't think the words matches the quality of those he wrote in Black Humour but they are still good. This is bit of a sad song and you should probably listen to it when you are feeling sorrow.

Overall - This is Jay's second album and after the success of the first it looked hard to beat but Jay has done himself proud. This album is simply fantastic. There is a lot of variety and all the songs are catchy. Jay has really surpassed himself.
