Jay Chou's ninth studio album, for the first time ever Jay Chou combines his interest in magic with his beloved music, the result is a fantastic album. With the theme of magic, cards figure significantly in the design of the album, from the first promotional poster to inspiration behind songs. Jay Chou wants to tell you the story of the battle between the Magician and the Joker. The title of the album in Chinese cleverly combines the three meanings - magic, Jay's name and the star sign Capricorn. All three are closely tied to Jay Chou himself. Magic is not the only theme of the album, the cover of the album, which took a month to complete, is based on a fantasy setting that is described in track 1.

This song is great. It's one of the best songs in this album. I like the feel and sound of it. It doesn't get boring to me. The music video is absolutely fantastic.

I love it! It's catchy and it's kinda like the Cowboy song. It doesn't sound the same, but it feels like it. It's happy and upbeat.

Simply one of the best. I love it and I think it's original. I never heard something like this from him and I have to give it a perfect 10. The music video for this is also fantastic.

Reviewed by Koshakee on 2nd March 2009 This was quite a different album for Jay but after listening to it a couple of times, I absolutely love it. The first two songs are my favourite but there are many others that are just fantastic. Some of the songs had a real middle eastern feel to them which isn't what I like but the other songs make up for this. Mr Magic is not your normal song, definitely not something you would hear on the radio, but it is really fun and unique - very enjoyable.
Overall I think this is a great album. Probably not my favourite as there are a couple of songs I really don't like and I usually like every song on the album but it is still totally worth getting.

Reviewed by anitasaputra on 14th January 2009 The first time I listened to these songs, it made me so happy listening to all the new styles Jay puts. I keep wondering how can a person not loose inspirations for keep composing songs. But I think Jay can be better next year.
Some of these songs are directly catchy, but listening to Jay's songs is not the only one way to enjoy it, I think watching the MV, esp. watching his concert will make you loveeeee him even more. VIVA Jay Chou, can't wait to see his next concert and his next album. ^^
Reviewed by Arty on 4th January 2009 I have this feeling that Jay will slowly fall if next year's album is as weak as this one. I felt that this album wasn't as great as the other albums such as Still Fantasy and On the Run. Still, there were some songs that were fine, but it just doesn't sound like Jay. The pros still outweigh the cons, but I hope that he will try harder next year.

i don't care how many people said that they hate this album or said that Jay trying really hard or whatever! what you guys think that make a music was that easy...why don't you guys try yourself than talking nonsense about Jay!
i think this album really nice to listen to, since i'm a bit disappointing with still fantasy and on the run but yes the 1st time i heard dao xiang..i knew this album gonna be great!
i love almost all the tracks in this album esp dao xiang of course. for me it is worth my money to buy this album.
i absolutely love the cover album....i don't care for the fact that it was like a game cover or whatever but it is great and creative plus unique too!!
i think this is one of Jay's best album apart from fantasy and qi li xiang. i hope Jay keep on make music...he still the best composer 4 me :)
