Protecting Patty Hou, Jay Chou chases paparazzi in Taipei
by kelvin@multistars - 8th August 2005Artist Jay was driving with his girlfriend Patty Hou in the afternoon of the 8th, he was on the crossing between Kee Lung Road and Zhong-Xiao East Road in Taipei, because he was not happy with the paparazzi taking photos while following them on a motorcycle, he got out of his car and talked to them, in order to scare them off Jay pretended to chase them, his agent company clarified that even though Jay was angry but he definitely did not hit anyone.
Alfa Music's vice manager expressed that it was because at that time Jay had a friend in the car, the paparazzi on the motorcycle was taking photos and following them all along, when they reached the crossing waiting for the red lights, the paparazzi kept on taking photos, Jay thought this was impolite behaviour so he got out and asked them to stop taking photos and following them.
The reporters of Ettoday further asked whether the friend in Jay's car was a boy or girl? The vice manager expressed "It was a female friend", the reporters asked if it was "Patty Hou"? The vice manager said, "Yes, it was".
The vice manager expressed that because it was a female friend in the car, being a man, he should stop the paparazzi from acting like this, therefore there was definitely no hitting of the paparazzi like in the rumours; they attracted some passer-bys to gather around when they were talking, there was even some passer-bys saying to the paparazzi: "Hey! You finished taking pictures yet?"
The vice manager expressed that at that time the paparazzi pulled out car keys wanting to go near Jay's seat, thus Jay pretended to chase them, he was only trying to scare them away.
Alfa Music has expressed: "Afterwards Jay went to have dinner, they didn't argue to the police station.".
