Media Asia Films starting new movies, already confirmed Jay Chou will take part
by kelvin@multistars - 20th March 2006Media Asia Films' most famous work cannot be anything but the "Infernal Affairs" series, the duo directors Andrew Lau and Alan Mak last year heated up the whole of Asia with their live action version of the manga "Initial D", giving an even stronger confidence towards this duo. In the 8 to 10 new movies Media Asia are planning to start filming this year, the "Lau and Mak pair" will produce at least 2 of them.
One of the movies, which has no name yet, is of an epic style offering, it will set the stage as Hong Kong in the 40s, describing how businessmen, who come from Mainland China to Hong Kong, create business, and also all the kinds of circumstances that occur between them and the gangs. The movie is estimated to start filming at the latter half of the year, male lead of "Initial D" Jay Chou has already been confirmed will be taking part.
