Jay Chou has always liked investing, in 2006 he opened an Italian restaurant in Taipei, now it's been reported that they have an illegal construction on the terrace, Jay Chou, who is being investigated by the Taipei civic centre might be embroiled in a court case.
In August 2006, Jay Chou along with Taiwanese lyricist Vincent Fang and others invested 1.1 million yuan to open a 3 floored Italian restaurant in Taipei, naming it "Mr. J Italian and French kitchen", it's become a stronghold for the Taiwanese entertainment circle.
But, a few days ago some citizens reported to the Taipei civic centre that the little garden on the terrace on the 3rd floor of Jay Chou's restaurant is illegal, afterwards officials came personally to investigate the restaurant, they also took pictures at the scene, saying: "According to the local laws, if after investigation it is discovered that it is breaking the law, besides going to court, it will be forcefully taken down."
It turns out, Jay Chou especially designed the terrace on the 3rd floor to be a little garden as the VIP room for the restaurant. A female member of staff told reporters: "Our store manager is an interior designer, this was built according to the original architecture of the room, it is definitely not breaking the law. In order not to ruin the original architecture, we didn't even dare to fix the leak."
As to why they were reported, the female staff member smiled saying: "It might have been the old lady next door, she often comes over telling us we are too loud."
Reporters interviewed the next door neighbour the female staff member talked about, she accepted the interview and said frankly: "I'm a person who goes to sleep at 8, but often the place next door starts having birthday parties, singing songs at 9, the music is also loud, I've thought about calling the police, but I tolerated it, so I definitely wouldn't have reported them."
