Jay Chou's Hong Kong concert
by kelvin@multistars - 10th November 2004

Even though his relationship with Sony is not too good at the moment, Jay's 7-session "Incomparable To Jay Concert" in Hong Kong opened lively as usual; his mood was not affected at all.
Jay descended from the sky on a cross, he wore a black suit with a silver tie, as soon as he came out he danced and sang, and even said hello to the fans in fluent Cantonese, but he frankly said he was a bit nervous, he also hinted to the fans to give him applause and encouragement: "Cantonese is hard to learn, but I'm learning Cantonese songs, I will sing it for everyone to hear every night." He sang Faye Wong's Cantonese song "Repay" and "Red Bean (Mandarin version)", but he sang it in Cantonese and Mandarin. He hopes that when he sings Cantonese songs the fans can sing along with him and he also hopes to sing a different Cantonese song every night.
But after the concert finished yesterday night, Jay opened the champagne at the celebration party, but he was hurriedly pulled away from the party, as if they wanted to protect him, he only stopped after the media requested he accept interviews.
Jay's contract problem with the record company has attracted a lot of attention, Jay expressed that he is not too clear about the arrangements of the contract. The most important thing to him is to have a good environment to make music; he doesn't want to care too much about other things, he said like Amei Cheung said, "Let adults handle the adult stuff!" He pointed out that he has worked with both BMG and Sony; he gets along well with the colleagues at both companies. He stressed that he will still be the guest for Jolin Choi's concert.
