Jay Chou wins Most Popular Artist in Taiwan

by kelvin@multistars - 3rd February 2005

Yesterday night the "MTV Asia Aid Music Concert" was held in Bangkok, it attracted 200 media reporters to interview, guests came to perform from different countries including Korea's Rain, Taiwan's Jay Chou and Thailand's heavenly queen Tata Young, etc..., American popular artist Alicia Keys was the guest presenter, even though Zhang Zi Yi and Jackie Chan couldn't make it, but they made a video to support. Jay's impression of the presenter Alicia Keys was very deep, he described: "Her voice and figure are both very diao." Not only this but with this performance as an excuse, Jay wants to get to know Rain, Siti, Tata Young, etc... The main organisers presented the "Most Popular Artist in Taiwan" to Jay and "Most Popular Artist in Hong Kong" to Joey Yung, but Joey couldn't make it because of scheduling problems.

Jay was the only Chinese artist to perform yesterday night, he cared a lot about the songs he had to perform, he hopes it has meaning and not compared to the other Western artists, at the end he decided to wear a white shirt with flowers, he wore clothes with a lot of Chinese flavour, performing "Snail" which he wrote the lyrics and song and also "Common Jasmin Orange", he hopes through the warm tune, to cheer on the people who have lost family. The other Chinese artist was Vanness Wu who was the guest presenter yesterday; he only appeared and didn't perform.

Even though Jay, who wore a white suit printed full of flowers, has just separated from Sony, but he has already successfully signed for Warner Music, as for the rumours that Jay would not sign with Warner because of his relationship with rumoured girlfriend Jolin Choi, Jay denied this. And Tata Young who was also there has met with Jay in Taiwan recently, the reporters laughed saying Jay has got another rumoured girlfriend? He said smiling: "No!"
