Jay Chou: This is my first real "acting"

Yesterday the poster and trailer for the adventure action movie "The Treasure Hunter", due out on the 31st of December, was revealed. The trailer focused on action and big scenes, according to the introduction from one of the main cast Eric Tseng: "This is one of the movies that Tony Ching thinks went the best in all his years of directing." Jay Chou also accepted interviews at the desert set, he expressed how important he sees this movie: "In the movies in the past I've just played my own personality. This is the first time you could really call it acting."
A lot of people were worried about the height of the heavenly king Jay Chou being matched with Lin Chi Ling. To this Zhu Yan Ping had this to say: "Jay Chou is still slightly taller, of course the bottom of his shoes are also a bit taller, but without padded soles." Jay Chou didn't accept this at all: "We are definitely the same height, but when you look at a girl they tend to look taller." He praised Lin Chi Ling's acting for being natural, while he did that he also boasted about himself: "Being natural is very important, I've also never learnt how to perform, I'm part of the natural acting club." This is the first time the two collaborated, Jay Chou's impression of Lin Chi Ling was: "I think she's an ancient, she talks very slowly, her steps are also slow. I think it's very cool for someone to live this way in real life."
Eric Tseng exposed the fact that Jay Chou only accepted his role in "The Treasure Hunter" because it had a lot of "fight scenes", but Jay Chou admitted: "Some difficult moves, I just couldn't do, we had to use a double. Filming over 40 shots, my body stopped listening to my commands - not because I was tired but because I didn't have enough foundation." Originally there were piano playing scenes in the movie, but Jay Chou rejected them: "I'm scared that if the audience see me playing the piano, they won't be able to get into the movie, I just changed instruments - in the movie I play a flute." He also declined to perform the interlude song, especially singing with Lin Chi Ling: "I can write a song for her to sing, but a duet would be very weird - we would be acting and in the background we would be singing, it would feel like an MV, or 'Jay Chou has possessed me'. I can sing the ending song, the movie's finished by then anyway."
Everyone says Jay Chou has matured. Eric Tseng said: "Maybe it's because he's been a director himself, he'll think about a lot of stuff in detail. Not like other actors who just bring their body and not their brain." Jay Chou said, in "The Treasure Hunter" he broke away from his own shadow, "This is real acting".
