Jay Chou not going to Mainland China to hold concert for a year
by kelvin@multistars - 1st October 2005After nearly getting beaten up while holding his concert in Harbin a few days ago, yesterday Jay performed in the sports stadium in Shenzhen, the public security offstage was especially stern and severe. When Jay was asked about this he replied, after the final leg of the tour is finished in the middle of December, he won't be having concerts within a year; he also won't be holding any concerts in the northern region, the Harbin police yesterday expressed there was definitely no instance where someone got hit.
Yesterday night Jay held a concert in a sports stadium in Shenzhen which could hold 30,000 people, his mood was not affected by the incident of violence, when he sang to the encore song, because the fans were so passionate, he jumped off stage and showed his friendly side, who could have thought that because he was unbalanced he nearly fell, it was good thing the public security rushed over to separate the pushing fans, he was immediately pulled back onstage by Nan Quan Mama.
When he talked about the matter of violence in Harbin he expressed: "Every place's public security pays a lot of attention to my safety, it was only a special situation in Harbin, I think not every place's public security personnel are so violent." But he expressed that after the final leg of the tour is finished in Guangzhou on December 17th, he predicts he will not hold a concert for a year, and he will not hold a concert in the northern regions again.
In the matter of violence, he cared most about the female staff who got hit, he said: "At that night I saw her cry, I think she's very brave, in the celebration party she took a picture with me, only thing was she was crying while taking the photo. The part where someone got hit, the main organisers might sue." As for being nominated with Jackie Chan for Best Actor in the Asian Pacific Film Festival, he smiled saying: "The feeling is very invigorating, but if I get nominated in the Golden Horse Awards or Hong Long Film Awards, sitting with Andy Lau offstage waiting for the result to be announced, I will be even happier."
