Jay Chou estimates October release for new album
by kelvin@multistars - 26th June 2005
Talking about Initial D, Jay thinks filming movies is easier than making music. When filming a movie, there's a director and plenty of other people working together, but with music it is only one person, very lonely and also very dry. During filming, Jay felt the movie should have a sequel. Jay said that even though his mother only gave "Initial D" 85%, but he still hasn't satisfied his craving for acting. If there were a sequel, he would be very willing to act in it. Media Asia have already expressed they want to make a sequel. As for copyright for the sequel, Media Asia revealed: "The author has been very cautious about his manga, he's rejected a lot of buyers from Japan and Hollywood, because the public praise for this movie has been very good, it should be very easy for us to buy the copyrights for the sequel."
Director Andrew Lau once expressed to reporters that he will not film a sequel to Initial D within 3 years. But facing the eager hope from the moviemaking side, the people in charge related to this have already contacted him about arrangements for filming a sequel, it seems Andrew Lau must now start to consider a sequel.
About his new album, the young heavenly king expressed it will be officially released in October. At present, he has already written 15 songs, he predicts he will eliminate it down to 12. Talking about Jay's music, you have to talk about partner Vincent Fang. This time it can be said Jay astonished people with what he said! Jay expressed that Vincent Fang will write 5 to 6 versions for every song for Jay to choose from; the contents of the lyrics are often of revealing the young heavenly king's embarrassing stories. Not only this but Jay also expressed that looking at Vincent Fang's lyrics are like reading text, a lot of the times, he doesn't understand it and just sings it.
