It's not a dream, double J on same stage, Jay Chou and Jackie Chan, two internationally famed Chinese heavenly kings can hope to work together on a super kung fu comedy movie after being invited by EEG. News originating from Hong Kong, Jackie Chan and Jay Chou will be collaborating on a super movie by EEG, high ups from EEG especially travelled to Taiwan to discuss contracts, schedules and other details with Jay Chou's agent Yang Jun Rong.
Yesterday EEG's filming executive Albert Lee expressed on a phone call in Hong Kong: "EEG has indeed been in talks with Jay Chou's agent for a while, but we cannot as of yet announce the contents of the collaboration such as the director or actors, because originally we had hoped filming could start at the beginning of next year, but Jay Chou has gone to America to film a movie, the schedules have changed, Jackie Chan's schedule is also full, we will have to wait until everything is set before making an announcement."
Boss of Chang Hong Channel Film and Video Wu Dun who worked with Jay Chou on two movies "Kung Fu Dunk" and "Ci Ling" expressed: "I have indeed heard about EEG inviting Jackie Chan and Jay Chou for a collaboration, but it is not my movie, it's not appropriate for me to say too much about it, you'll have to ask EEG. I have worked very happily with Jay Chou, "Ci Ling" is showing in December all around Asia, Jay has promised to come back from America to promote it. Next year he will be filming movies for another company, it's just as well as it lets us take time to prepare a new script just for him and work with him again the year after."
Jay Chou's JVR Music's executive Zhang Lan Yun yesterday expressed: "Jay's movie contracts are all negotiated by boss Yang Jun Rong, at present Yang Jun Rong is not in Taiwan, whether or not Jay has signed a contract with EEG, whether he has signed with an American agent company and joined the American Screen Actors Guild, all these will need to be personally answered by Yang Jun Rong. But promotion for "Ci Ling" was discussed a while ago, Jay will definitely come back."
Before the two heavenly kings meet on the same stage, firstly they will fight it out in the box office: Jay Chou, Vincent Zhao, Zhou Xun star in Yuen Woo Ping's "Beggar So" will be up against "Big Soldiers" starring Jackie Chan and Leehom Wang during the Spring Festival next year.
