Director Chou invests $40 million into movie to fulfil dream
by kelvin@multistars - 3rd January 2007The year before last Jay was unsuccessful with filming the movie "Bangka", he hasn't given up and will be investing $40 million to film a youthful campus movie, he will be the director, screenwriter, male lead, the female lead has been set on as Guey Lun-mei, he's gotten his godfather Anthony Wong to be his father, the name of the movie is just like his cold joke styles, it's called "A Secret I Can't Tell You"!
Last time Jay invest TW$10 million to film "Bangka" which was aborted, he was not satisfied for his dream to be smashed just like that so he formed his own crew "Jay Broadcast" to fund the movie. According to reports, Jay cherishes the memories of love as a student a lot, this movie "A Secret I Can't Tell You" which he is personally writing and directing is mainly commemorating the various love relationships he had when he was in Tamkang middle school, but it's limited to the plot and the sense of the audience, it might shrink down to only one relationship. He's going to be 28 on the 18th of January, this movie will also commemorate the 10th anniversary since he left his days as a student.
Due to the fact that that movie depicts Jay's own matters of love, he will be the male lead, they've set their choice for the female lead as Guey Lun-mei, Anthony Wong who was his father in "Initial D" will be his father for a second time.
Jay once revealed, after filming "Initial D" and "Curse Of The Golden Flower", he secretly learned a lot of techniques to filming, he craves the challenge of the role of being a movie director. He's worried about having to split himself in March for "Slam Dunk", it's estimated that the "Secret" movie will start filming at the end of January, the estimated time for filming is two months, as for the supporting actors there is good friend Will Liu, Nan Quan Mama, etc...
At the end of November last year, he returned to his old school Tamkang middle school and received the "Honorary Director of Music", at that time he privately talked to the school, he wanted to borrow the piano room he used to practise in, the teachers' office, the classroom, etc... the school has agreed to lend out the places.
