Alfa Music and Sony Music split up
by kelvin@multistars - 29th October 2004The matter of Jay appearing at Jolin Choi's concert, suddenly a variable has appeared! Yesterday Alfa Music issued a statement, announcing they have decided to officially terminate the appointed publishing collaboration relationship because Sony Music unsuitably managed overseas bookkeeping and the problem of delayed payment.
In the statement Alfa Music issued yesterday afternoon they expressed "Because Sony Music, which Alfa Music entrusted for acting publishing in recent years, have not fulfilled their responsibility of a good keeper of overseas bookkeeping handling, and then delayed payment, apart from seriously damaging the interests of Alfa Music, it has also influenced the interests and development of artists. Our company has received the order from the head company Holiday Group, we have already sent letters to Sony Music on the 21st of October and 28th of October, officially terminated the contract with Sony Music."
Alfa Music general manager Mr Yeung helplessly expressed: "A contract is a contract, because the Holiday Group we are attached to is a company on the stock market, they have always requested financial affairs to be transparent and clear, yet on the side of Sony they often hand in the report of overseas sales and funds of accounts late, only then did the company make this decision." As for the new collaboration partner, Mr Yeung expressed: "Currently still don't have any idea, I gladly welcome everyone to come and talk." Holiday might establish publishing on it's own, taking back some Taiwanese artists and also Jay to publish by itself.
Towards whether or not Jay will be appearing at Jolin Choi's Taipei concert? Mr Yeung said: "Right now a variable has been added, originally we were already commencing preparations for selecting songs, etc... if Jay appears it is definitely for his friendship with Jolin, if he doesn't appear, it might be because of Sony, I'll let everyone wait for the result."
