A Jay Chou song (Mosquito Jiu Kong plays male lead and asks for song)
by kelvin@multistars - 6th June 2010Source: Chinatimes
Recently Jiu Kong has urged Jay Chou and Richie Ren to help him write songs, not because he's releasing an album, but because he is filming a TV series in Mainland China, he hopes the heavenly king can help him write the theme song, he cautiously said: "This is my first time as the male lead, it's a ancient Chinese comedy series." Jay Chou agreed to write an electric version of "The Mosquito Song", the name of the song is interesting, is he scared that it won't fit with the plot? Jiu Kong said: "No! There were mosquitoes in ancient times."
He jumped to fame because of his imitation of mosquitoes, Jay Chou's first impression of him was a comical one. When the two filmed "Pandamen" together, as soon as he said he wanted to sing, Jay Chou quickly agreed to write a song for him, he was overwhelmed by the unexpected favour. What was the price of asking for a song? He said cleverly: "I can only use my body in exchange." He said right now he's a movie class, next time Jay Chou films a movie, he's willing to "offer himself up", he'll exchange the fee for a movie for the song, he was very frank.
Richie Ren has also been asked to write a song, at first he thought he was being messed around, because it's not possible that a record company will help him release an album, that was until he returned to Taiwan to promote his new album, he bumped into Jay Chou at the radio station and found out it was real. "He talked to me about Jiu Kong, I found out that Jiu Kong was annoying him." He asked Jay Chou half believing: "Are you really going to write a song for him?" Jay Chou mumbled: "I'm writing it right now."
Jiu Kong has been imitating Jay Chou for a long time, when the two met, Jay Chou said: "Brother Jiu, you did it well! It's just that that costume wasn't too good." After he said that he gave him one of his own clothes, this moved him, afterwards Jay Chou invited him to act in "Pandamen", the two became friends.
