3rd day in Venice: Jay Chou is like a student on holiday
by kelvin@multistars - 4th September 2005"Initial D" is a movie at the film festival, so Jay and Andrew Lau are very relaxed, when it was time for interviewing Media Asia arranged the flow very well with a lot of order, plus it was half outdoors, facing the sea, the sun was good, so everyone's mood was glittering. Both Andrew Lau and Jay, who were being interviewed, were like two students on holiday, and Peter Lam smoked cigar silently by the side, wearing sunglasses but he was very courteous and polite.
It was the 1st time Jay came to Venice, he said he came with his mother, (Everyone guessed Patty Hou would come, when it was time to walk the red carpet at night, the Hong Kong media thought there would be a surprise, they all waited a long time), Jay was in a good mood, before the interview started he said my sunglasses were good, "Definitely bought them here right?" I said it was from Beijing, I felt pleased with myself for a moment. In the interview I let him sit with his back facing the sea, it's very beautiful to film it like this, indeed, the blue sea matched his white shirt, it looked good.
In the interview I always wanted to say, Jay Chou you deserved to be called my idol, really handsome, I still didn't say it out. Not only is Jay good looking, in fact he is good at talking, I asked him why he chose to wear dragon and phoenix on his clothes when walking the red carpet at night, he said of course dragon and phoenix, they are very Chinese, I wanted to let people know of China, I will try hard to sing better in the future, to let foreigners listen to Chinese songs and learn Chinese, that's what's called "diao", he had a lot of spirit.
In the interview he was asked about his dating, he said he would only get married after 10 years. So everyone can give a sigh of relief.
Yesterday Jay finally got to meet director Ang Lee, the contents of the two's conversation were just a few things about life and work. Ang Lee praised Jay for having a "lot of the flavour of a star", Director Chou said, Ang Lee's movies are "very diao", he hopes he can be like Ang Lee and become the pride of Chinese. After filming "Initial D", Director Chou feels the life of acting is even broader, "Making music is like fighting a lone battle, but filming a movie is a bunch of people surging ahead, I like this kind of feeling."
